Range Rover SV Coupe to be unveiled
Full-size luxury vehicle to be manufactured by hand in limited run of 999 examples
Land Rover will unveil its new Range Rover SV Coupe, the world’s first full-size “luxury SUV coupe,” at the Geneva Motor Show in early March, the automaker has announced.
The two-door truck promises to be an exercise in contradiction, somehow both a coupe and an SUV, with styling both modern and also a throwback to the first Range Rovers of 1970. The interior will similarly be built using “traditional skills” to place “up-to-the-minute technologies” throughout the cabin.
Land Rover Design and the company’s Special Vehicle Operations worked co-operatively to develop the Range Rover SV Coupe, which will be hand-assembled in a limited run of just 999 examples.
A growing number of automakers have been offering up new takes on the traditional “coupe” body style, with sleekroof four-doors and fastback crossovers or SUVs that walk the line between formerly distinct segments.
Land Rover is also reportedly developing an electric “Road Rover” that crosses an SUV with a sedan.
