Crawford has regrets over nude shoots
Veteran supermodel Cindy Crawford regrets going nude for certain shoots and hopes her daughter never has to reluctantly strip off.
The 52-year-old mother of two tells the May issue of Town & Country Magazine she’s very proud of some of the naked shoots she’s done in the past, but there are others she still has nightmares about.
“I’ve done nude photos, lots,” she says. “The only ones I regretted were the ones that I kind of got talked into.
“I don’t want my children to ever look back and think, ‘Gosh, I wish I hadn’t done that.’ I want to empower them to just say, ‘I’m outta here.’”
Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber, is now an in-demand catwalk and cover beauty, while son Presley is also making waves as a model — and mom is the siblings’ manager.
“Eventually I want to empower them to be in charge of their own careers, but they’re not ready for that yet,” Crawford says. “Right now they’re mostly, ‘Mom, just tell me what to do.’ ”
Crawford, however, insists she has never been abused or harassed as a model and most photographers and magazine bosses she worked with were respectful. “I’m really lucky, because I don’t have a #MeToo story,” says Crawford, referencing the anti-harassment movement that launched last year, but adds that should anyone take advantage of her kids, they will have to answer to her.
“As far as being a mother of two young people going into fashion, of course I worry, but let’s be honest, my kids are blessed in that business because they aren’t coming in as unknowns,” she says. “People will know I will come after them if they mess with my kids.”
