The Province

NDP killing its future

-

I’m convinced Premier John Horgan is torpedoing the NDP’s future in B.C. Half or more of his potential voters are against his tap-dance to keep Green party Leader Andrew Weaver onside.

Horgan isn’t only threatening a host of very good union jobs, he’s kissing off the taxes that the expanded Trans Mountain pipeline could bring the province.

If he thinks his stance will win the NDP more voter support in a head-to-head battle with the Liberals, he’s delusional.

As a voter who grew up voting CCF in Saskatchewan before the NDP even existed and had the pleasure of voting for Tommy Douglas a few times, I’ll be sorry to see B.C.’s party of the centre-left emulate the Titanic against this fiscal iceberg. Garry Gaudet, Lantzville
