Leaving on own terms

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Surrey Mayor Linda Hepner is resigning this fall. When politicians quit, one of the reasons often cited is to “spend more time with family,” but we must read between the lines.

The thought of losing is depressing and humiliating for any politician, so Hepner is playing it smart by leaving on her own terms.
