POWER OUTAGES HIT RAPS

-

Mother Nature does not care that Delon Wright or Lucas Nogueira are in the midst of a very important NBA playoff series.

Both downtown dwellers were hit by the same power outages many in Toronto’s core experienced Sunday night, less than 48 hours before meeting the Washington Wizards in Game 2 of the first round.

Wright’s electricity went out at the beginning of the Oklahoma City-Utah game. He then went to bed and, when he woke up Monday morning, power had returned.

Nogueira, who lives just across the street, was also in the dark. But Pascal Siakam, who took over Wright’s old lease on the opposite side of the street, still had power.

“I can see his window and he still had lights,” Wright noted.

Wright, the 25-year-old guard, was not terribly put out. He didn’t freeze or anything. “No, I just wore a sweater and some sweats. It was all right,” he said.

As far as Wright knew, he and Nogueira were the only Raptors affected by the power outage.
