BRADY TO PASS ON WORKOUTS
ATLANTA — Tom Brady probably will pass on all New England Patriots spring practices except the last three — the only mandatory sessions next month that conclude spring workouts and on-field activities.
That’s what New England Patriots owner Robert
Kraft told reporters here Wednesday.
The 40-year-old Brady is the reigning league MVP.
He “is in great shape,” said
Kraft, who didn’t sound concerned about Brady’s absence this week or next from the first all-team, on-field practices of 2018.
Brady has not missed these sessions in eight years and is the only starting NFL quarterback this spring to not attend them, according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe.
“These are voluntary workouts,” Kraft said. “I think he’s at an age where he’s blessed to have three children, has responsibilities. It’s hard to fulfill those during the season.”
The Patriots’ mandatory mini-camp is scheduled for June 5-7.
