MSC offers European-style cruising in the Caribbean

MSC Cruises recently took delivery of the sister-ship to its trendsetting MSC Seaside. Known as MSC Seaview, the 4,132-passenger ship is the largest cruise ship ever built in Italy.

Like MSC Seaside, the massive MSC Seaview is loaded with on-board features that include 10 restaurants and 20 bars and lounges. There are also five waterslides on-board; a bowling alley; a Formula One racing simulator; a 4D cinema; a kids splash park; a pair of ziplines; and an outdoor movie screen.

MSC Seaview makes her home in the Mediterranean, while you can catch MSC Seaside sailing out of Miami to the Caribbean year-round.

There are a few things that make this pair of ships truly great.

First off, both ships have wide-open promenade decks with unobstructed views for lounging, al fresco dining, or just cocktails by the sea. Most of the ship’s public areas are cluttered on this deck, which makes it easy to pop in and out of your favourite bar or lounge.

Both ships are loaded with amenities, and they’re great for families with kids, thanks in no small part to a spectacular waterpark and some of the best kids facilities I’ve seen at sea.

For adults who want to take things easy but still have all the amenities of a big ship, the MSC Yacht Club is the perfect answer. This private enclave of the ship, located all the way forward, features dedicated staterooms and suites along with a private lounge, private outdoor deck areas, and a private dining room perched high above the ship. MSC has featured this special area for several years now, but the spaces aboard MSC Seaside and MSC Seaview really set the bar high. It’s like being on a luxury cruise.

Of course, even if you book a standard stateroom, you’ll find lots to like about these ships. MSC attracts a very international mix of passengers, which is great for those who want a more European-style experience in either Europe or the Caribbean. Entertainment is diverse and decidedly unique, and the ship’s crew does its very best to please, which isn’t always an easy task.

If you like your ships big, bold and international, and are looking to stray from the more common North American-based cruise lines, a cruise aboard MSC Seaside and MSC Seaview just might fit the bill.
