SO MANY SHOWS, SO LITTLE TIME …

- CAM HUTCHINS To have your event listed, contact Cam at camhutchins@shaw.ca

The theme for last and this weekend? So many events ... so little time! Last weekend I followed the less-is-more approach and was rewarded with an awesome day at the KMS Tools show and the Father’s Day in the Park in Mission. At the KMS show I met Adam Murkowski who took his car on the longest drive since he has owned it ... seven kilometres from Maple Ridge to the show in Coquitlam. He found the 1946 Chevy on Vancouver Island a while ago and it originally had been hot rodded in the early Sixties. The car has all that great period speed equipment,’ including Fenton Split manifold, dual carbs, and an Offy finned valve cover. He rebuilt the running gear and left the great 50-year old paint. I also spoke with Stephanie, the owner of a 1963 Falcon who restored the car herself and belongs to the Falcon Fairlane Comet club as well as the BCHRA. Glen Ehlert was there with his 1968 Dodge Dart GTS that he bought new as a kid and celebrated his 50th year of ownership last April.

Last weekend I was impressed with how many people had their kids with them as they cruised into the show at Mission. Good for you all. One fellow with a very cool Chevy truck had his grandson with him and in front in the lineup was his son, also in a very cool Chevy truck.

So make sure you take in the great weather and go see as many shows as you can, and take a kid with you.
