June 24 — 30

- GEORGIA NICOLS

ARIES | (March 21-April 19)

You might be confused about your goals. Lately you have been eager to formulate goals and plan how you can work with others and coordinate group efforts. But when Mars goes retrograde this week until August 27, suddenly, you’re indecisive. (Whaaat?) You will start second-guessing your plans for the future. You will feel resentful about group pressures. “Enough awreddy!” An excellent way to lessen this tension is through physical activity with friends and groups. (Although ironically, you might feel competitive with a friend but not want to admit it to anyone, including yourself.) This anxiety won’t happen again for years. Whew!

TAURUS | (April 20-May 20)

This is an unusual year for you. The insane intensity of Mars from March to November is happening at the top of your chart. This makes you blow hot and cold. First, you are super ambitious and ready to conquer the world! You know what you’re doing. You know what you want. You know how you’re going to get it! Then suddenly, poof! Starting this week, you will start to second-guess clearly-laid plans, especially about your career and your future direction in life. You might resent authority figures. (And they will resent you!) Be honest with yourself and others to minimize the aggressive confusion you feel. Tell it like it is. People will understand.

GEMINI | (May 21-June 20)

You’re keen to expand your mind and learn new philosophies, religions and esoteric studies to expand your world. And you want to travel! You might be so gung ho about something, you want others to agree with you. Yet, in the next two months, you might wonder if you’ve been brainwashed. Are these ideas yours? First you were gung ho and now you’re not even sure what you believe. Arguments with siblings, relatives and daily contacts arise because these people are annoying! It’s as if you feel hoodwinked — but how? Relax. You love to learn. You love to explore ideas. Learning is not an upward curve; it plateaus and then moves forward again.

CANCER | (June 21-July 22)

This is a complicated year because for eight months, Mars is either opposite your sign or in one of your Money Houses. Back and forth. Back and forth. When it’s opposite your sign, you’re annoyed with others. Of course, you do your best to be patient, but they’re annoying! Your wisest option is to suck it up. Don’t make a big deal about things because this will go away, and not return for years. (At least not like this year.) You want to be happy. You want to be joyful and you want warm, rewarding relationships. Therefore, be patient with partners and close friends. Be patient with disputes about shared property and inheritances. Whatchayagonndo?

LEO | (July 23-Aug. 22)

Here’s the skinny: Once every two years, Mars is opposite your sign for six weeks, making you annoyed with partners and friends. It happens. However, this year, Mars is opposite your sign for 22 weeks. (Whaaat?) There’s no way to sugar-coat this. This is your reality. It’s a testing year. Because you want to be happy and you want joyful relationships, especially with those who are closest to you — your only recourse is to be patient, understanding and tolerant. This is for your own happiness as well as their happiness. Or you can be grumpy, bitchy and critical and everyone will be miserable. We’re talking almost half of the year. What’s the wise choice?

VIRGO | (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

This year you feel like Jekyll and Hyde. You want to work hard and then suddenly, you want to play, party and relax! You’re gung ho to work and give it everything you’ve got. (You’re even delegating to others around you.) Then suddenly, you don’t care! How can this be? One moment you’re gung ho and the next moment you’re questioning if you should even be in your job. You want to take a course to improve your skills then suddenly you want to change careers. Likewise, you’re hot to trot for a vacation or a romantic connection — and then, the gears reverse and you’re not interested or it all falls apart. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with you. This is a weird influence and it won’t return again for years. Relax. Your own positive frame of mind will keep you believing in yourself.

LIBRA | (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

The tricky thing this year as Mars flips back and forth between Capricorn and Aquarius is this: when Mars is in Capricorn, it’s at odds with your sign. It creates stress at home and tension with family members, especially parents. It introduces chaos and intense activity to where you live. It’s maddening! But when it shifts to Aquarius, your fellow Air Sign, it changes from your enemy into your friend. This summer it will be in Aquarius until mid August. (Fear not; it returns to Aquarius early in September to stay until November.) When it’s in Aquarius, you will play and enjoy vacations but admittedly, you will be indecisive. You might feel guilty about playing. It will also play havoc with your love life. (I said it was your friend, maybe frenemy?)

SCORPIO | (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Things are tough because Mars moved into Aquarius mid-May and it’s staying there (mostly) until mid November. This means Mars is at odds with your sign. The good news is this makes you energetic. You will be assertive and able to accomplish a lot of work. But when it goes retrograde this week and this summer, you will question your job and everything you do. Despite this high energy, Mars will make you angry and irritable. Everything is the last straw! You might fight with someone, especially a family member. Obviously, you want to have a great summer. You want to get along. Make a decision to do this and tough it out when you hit the rough patches. You’ve got willpower and discipline.

SAGITTARIUS | (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

The insanity of Mars this year is not too bad. (You get time off for good behaviour.) When Mars is in one of your Money Houses, you want to work hard to earn money. You will also want to spend money! However, most of the time, Mars will give you lots of mental energy and make your communications with others forthright and direct. Nevertheless, when it goes retrograde, (this week), you find yourself backtracking and changing your mind. You want to undo promises and plans. You might renege on a short trip that sounded like a good idea but now — not so much. Hey, give yourself permission to change your mind. We all do it. Phffft!

CAPRICORN | (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

This year Mars is in your sign twice as long as it usually is (once every two years). This is why you’re coming on like gangbusters! Don’t be too bossy or too aggressive. However, this week and for most of the summer, Mars slips backwards in one of your Money Houses where it creates confusion. Financial decisions and how you earn your money that were once clear, are suddenly not so clear. You might question what you’re doing. You might question your job. You might question how you spend your money. You might doubt major expenses. Doubt is anti-productive. None of us really knows what we’re doing or why. Most people are at work on Wednesday simply because they were there on Tuesday. Relax.

AQUARIUS | (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is a powerful year for you because Jupiter is at the top of your chart. Meanwhile, this summer, fiery Mars is in your sign. It boosts your energy and confidence! Or does it? (Yes, I loved The Grinder.) But when Mars goes retrograde (this week) you start to reassess what you thought you wanted. Instead of being direct, you’re passive aggressive. You might feel hesitant and start second-guessing yourself. You might internalize your anger or sit on your impulses. But hey, this is small stuff! Just be aware that this is going on. This is nothing you can’t handle because this year, you’re a star! Or are you?

PISCES | (Feb. 19-March 20)

You are sensitive. This year you have strength dealing with friends, especially groups. Everyone loves you! You’re running the show! Then suddenly, you feel lonely. Like what’s with that? This summer when Mars is retrograde, it takes place in a hidden part of your chart, which means it stirs up subconscious confusion. You will literally not know what you want and not know what you should be doing. Of course, your routine will demand that you go through the motions. But you will question a lot. Don’t worry. It’s just what’s happening this summer and this won’t happen again for years. Life’s funny — until it’s not.
