When it comes to easy, uplifting and funny conversation, talk show host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres is the go-to celebrity.

This fall, the tables will be turned and the mega star will be the one answering the questions during a moderated Q&A event at Rogers Arena on Oct. 19.

Tickets for A Conversation with Ellen DeGeneres will range in price from $99-$425 and will go on sale Aug. 15 at ticketmaster.ca.

“We are really excited about hosting a global thought leader who is both inspirational and uplifting,” said Greater Vancouver Board of Trade vice-president David Crawford.

“We’re curious to hear what she has to say on Oct. 19.”

The Board of Trade surveys its 5,000 plus members about potential speakers. Crawford said DeGeneres was at the top of the wish list, especially when it came to a very important and timely topic.

“We are thrilled to have an opportunity to host Ellen in Vancouver this fall for a candid discussion on her life, career, success and overcoming adversity,” said Iain Black, president and CEO of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade.

DeGeneres is preparing for a three-city, eight-night tour in August. It’s her first such tour in 15 years, and wraps up Aug. 23 in Seattle, where she will also shoot a brand new Netflix special.

“The reaction to this has been largely emotional, and understandably so, because she’s so inspirational,” said Crawford.
