‘Perfect for each other’

Foster’s daughter backs his marriage to McPhee — WENN

David Foster’s daughter cannot understand why critics have lashed out at the music producer’s romance with new fiancee Katharine McPhee, because she’s convinced they are “perfect” together. The veteran composer and arranger popped the question to singer/ actress Katharine during a romantic vacation in Capri, Italy, in early July after just over a year of dating.

While many fans were quick to offer up their congratulations, some have made it clear they don’t approve of the couple’s unlikely relationship, mainly because Katharine is exactly half David’s age, but the musician’s daughter, songwriter Amy, insists that shouldn’t get in the way of true love. “I know that some people have been hating on that relationship,” she told Us Weekly. “All I can tell you is it absolutely works when you see them together. It’s love.

“The haters (can) shut the f--- up because they are perfect for each other.”

Amy S. Foster, 44, is 68-year-old David’s daughter from his first marriage to B.J. Cook, and she is already a big fan of her future stepmother, who is a decade younger than her.

“I’m so close with (Katharine),” she gushed. “She’s amazing and funny, fun, smart, elegant, timeless, beautiful, talented. I can’t say enough about her.”

Amy isn’t the first person to defend the couple’s romance — the bride-to-be herself also hit back at detractors shortly after announcing her engagement news.
