POWER RANKINGS
1 CALGARY (1) The 7-0 Stampeders have been dismantling opponents with their defence, though they gave up season-high totals — 22 to Saskatchewan and 18 to B.C. — the past two weeks.
2 EDMONTON (2)
The Eskimos have lost just twice this season. Circle Sept. 3 and 8 on your calendar — back-to-back showdowns with Calgary.
3 WINNIPEG (3)
The Bombers are 4-3 and explosive on offence, especially with QB Matt Nichols getting sharper following a return from a knee injury.
4 OTTAWA (4)
The Redblacks had a 24-point lead vs. the Argos last Thursday and somehow lost. Still not sure, though, that the Argos are a better team.
5 SASKATCHEWAN (5)
After a few weeks of juggling between Brandon Bridge and David Watford, Zach Collaros, injured (head) back in Week 2, gives them a clear No. 1.
6 HAMILTON (7)
Coming off two losses to Saskatchewan and another to Ottawa, Hamilton took out its frustration on Montreal. The Tiger-Cats have big offensive stats, but need to convert those into touchdowns.
7 TORONTO (8)
The Argos have won just twice. Is a second-half surge out of the question?
8 B.C (6)
Travis Lulay gives them a proven slinger, but the team has to score points.
9 MONTREAL (9)
Bringing in Johnny Manziel should help get fans into the seats and maybe improve the product.
