ROYAL ‘MAGIC’

Charles and Camilla profiled in Vanity Fair

-

Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, are taking a page from sons William and Harry and their wives by posing in a series of intimate photos for Vanity Fair to complement the magazine’s candid interview with the heir apparent.

In a rare moment of PDA, Camilla is even pictured with her hand resting on Prince Charles’ leg in a photo taken in Clarence House’s Garden Room.

Shot by Alexi Lubomirski, the photographer behind Harry and Meghan’s official engagement and wedding photos, the portraits break from traditional protocol and mimic the engagement photos of the younger royals.

“As soon as they looked at each other, there was a sparkle in their eyes — that’s when the magic happened,” Lubomirski told Vanity Fair. “You feel like they are a young couple in love.”

The magazine’s interview paints Charles and Camilla as charming and easy-going, with glowing commentary from the royal press.

Once portrayed as “the other woman” by the British media, one royal correspondent described Camilla as “my favourite royal, by a country mile,” according to the magazine.

“She knows all our names, she fosters a sense that we’re all in this together. She always gives you a little gleam in her eye and will find a moment to look at our cameras,” another reporter told Vanity Fair.
