KMS TameFrizz shampoo and conditioner

- ALEESHA HARRIS

What it is: A lineup of hair care products from the brand KMS that promises to fight frizz.

The suitably named TameFrizz collection, which includes shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner and reconstructor and primer, is billed as being the “first step in frizz reduction.”

A special ingredient complex including an AHA structure complex, which features lactic and malic acids, polyquaternium-10 and glycylglycine to support hair’s internal structure, even out the hair’s surface and make strands more manageable.

The lineup of products is free of paraben, gluten and mineral oil. What we say: Our tester, who regularly battles frizzy and unruly hair, was excited to get her hands on this collection’s shampoo and conditioner.

The shampoo yields moderate suds and leaves hair feeling clean but not stripped. At first, our tester felt the conditioner might be too thin to tame her frizz-prone strands, but after drying and styling her hair, the fears were laid to rest.

With one use, her hair felt smoother and more sleek. Unlike with most shampoo/ conditioner combinations, wet weather didn’t immediately undo all the good the formulas had done. In fact, even after an evening accidentally caught in the rain, our tester reports her hair stayed smooth and in control.

Where to get it: Select salons; chatters.ca What it will cost you: $20.75 to $22.50
