Don’t let the snow and cold weather fool you. Boating season is just around the corner and the annual Vancouver International Boat Show will get you in a wayfaring mood.

With two locations — B.C. Place and Granville Island — the 2019 version offers up the latest and greatest in all things marine, with some 250 exhibitors displaying boats and the gear to go with them. Free shuttle buses and water ferries will operate continuously between the two venues.

Here’s a look at some of the magnificent boats that will be under the dome and in the water during the show, which opened yesterday and runs through Sunday:

LAGOON 52 CATAMARAN

Fraser Yacht Sales will be showcasing the Lagoon 52 Catamaran, the biggest catamaran to ever appear at the Vancouver International Boat Show, and its first appearance in the Pacific Northwest. 66 MANHATTAN

The Vancouver International Boat Show is renowned for displaying some of the biggest and most luxurious yachts — and the 66 Manhattan definitely falls into the latter category. Presented by M&P Yacht Centre & Mercury Sales Ltd., this is the first Canadian showing of the model which won the 2018 Motorboat and Yachting award for “Best Flybridge over 66’.

Tigé BoatsSeca Marine has some exciting offerings this year — among them, the allnew ZX1 which is not only one of the best looking 21-foot boats on the market, it fits everything into a 21-foot package that you would normally expect out of a much larger boat. The ZX1 has the largest boat bow and cockpit space in the segment, massive surf wave, and the most luxurious interior.

FERRETTI 550

Blackfish Marine introduces a model that combines elegance and a very sporty character. The main deck’s uninterrupted glazing “cuts” the yacht’s profile, increasing its dynamic look, while the three large glazed surfaces on the hull sides — the cabin windows — perfectly harmonize with the overall design. The lowered flybridge and the new forward lounge area on the wheelhouse offer incredibly wide outdoor relaxation areas, ensuring great privacy with no impact on the craft’s slender profile.

YAMAHA SX195

Among a host of Yamaha products at this year’s Show is the redesigned SX195, a speedster coupe on the water and revved for performance with its 1.8-litre supercharged Super Vortex High Output Yamaha marine engine.
