Before Busy mom returns from vacation with thick and wavy hair needing TLC

Janine Hewitt is a busy wife and mom of two kids. The 42-year-old recently returned from family vacation in the sun and her hair was feeling faded, dry and shapeless.

Janine has thick and naturally wavy hair. Her colour was looking golden and faded from the sun. To refine her overall colour, I stared by applying a cool brown shade to her background foundation in a permanent formula to create depth. I then applied a demipermanent, ammonia-free colour in a beige-blond shade to her mid-lengths and ends to tone down the brassiness and to add lustre and shine back into her hair. The great part about this formula is that it maintained and enhanced the dimensional quality of her previously highlighted hair.

I shampooed her hair using KMS Color Vitality Shampoo and Conditioner to enhance blond and reduce yellowing. I added KMS Moist Repair Revival Crème as a leave-in conditioner, then sectioned her hair into a central vertical parting. I eliminated a few inches from her length and reshaped her layers. Before styling, I applied a palm-size amount of KMS Add Volume Styling Foam then blow-dried it with a medium-round brush. I curled her hair with a two-inch barrel curling iron and finished her style with Goldwell Kerasilk Styling Spray.

After Beige-blond shade tones down brassiness and adds lustre, while simple makeup highlights eyes MAKEUP

Janine has a very simple makeup routine and we kept her makeup very simple. We used a tinted moisturizer to even out her complexion then contoured her face with bronzing powder. To play up her beautiful eyes, we used a cream based eyeshadow in a tan-brown shadow, then lined her lash line with dark-brown eyeliner. We curled her lashes and coated them with black mascara, then filled in her eyebrows to frame her face. We used a peachy-brown blush to enhance her cheeks and opted for a nude lip colour to bring the look together.
