MCNEILL, James Alexander

Aug. 20, 1928 - Apr. 27, 2020 James Alexander McNeill of Coquitlam, passed away at the age of 91.

Jim was born in Vancouver to Alice and Alexander McNeill. He was the youngest of four children and was predecease­d by his brothers George and Ian, and his sister Mona.

Jim was a proud graduate of Lord Byng Secondary class of 1946, attending many graduation reunions, the most recent in 2019.

Jim began his career at General Motors. He worked at Martin Paper and MacMillan Bloudell, retiring in 1993.

Jim was a proud member of the Freemasons Commonweal­th Lodge #156 and became a member of the Gizeh Rajah Shrine Club.

Jim was fond of boating and the harbour. JIm loved good music, good horses and a good Scotch whiskey!

Jim is survived by Cori, his wife of 40 years, his son, Jim (Wendy), daughter Charlene and son-in-law Kerry, and daughter Leslie. Jim is also survived by his grandchild­ren Kyle (Theresa), Kaylene, Carly (James), Kaitlyn and Elise. Grandpa Jim was very proud to become a great-grandfathe­r to Nathan who was born in 2019. Jim is also survived by his first wife Aline. Jim and Cori enjoyed many trips to Europe, Asia and Africa. Jim was an avid painter and artist.

Thank you to the staff of Belvedere Care Centre and the Residences at Belvedere for their kind and compassion­ate care of Jim. He was a master of names and had a quick witty sense of humour.
