HENDERSON, Ralph Stanley

February 23, 1938 - May 5, 2020 We are saddened to announce the death of Ralph from complications following surgery. He showed amazing strength and kept fighting hard even in his weakened condition. Ralph was predeceased by his father, Stanley Henderson, mother, Mabelle Morris and stepdad, Evan Morris. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Paul and Carol Simonsen, nieces, Krista Hauschildt (Mogens), Paula Simonsen, (Scott) and grandnieces, Anna-Sophie, Eloise, and Mia. He also leaves to mourn many good friends and neighbours. Ralph was born and raised in Vancouver and attended Queen Mary Elementary School, Lord Byng High School and UBC where he received a degree in Social Work. Ralph spent the first two years of his working life in Sydney, Australia and London England working as a reporter, then worked as a Probabion Officer in Vancouver for 35 years. Ralph was passionate about movies, theatre, good food, travelling and photography. When travelling, he always sent the most detailed postcards chronicling his adventures, and bought T - shirts for everyone! Ralph spent many years volunteering for the VIFF. He was also a member of the Prime Timers, and wrote an entertainment column for their newsletter. We’d also like to express our appreciation for all the staff in Ward 8 B, of VGH for all their kindness and dedication. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
