MARCHIORO, Domenico

October 30, 1935 - May 15, 2020

-

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our much-loved

Father, Nonno, brother and friend.

Domenico was predeceased by his parents Bortolo and Silvia, his brother

Giulio, and his loving wife of 30 years Eva-Marie.

He is survived by his sons David (Corrie), Michael (Lindsay), and his treasured grandchildren Micah, Simone, Jaelyn, Michelle, Olivia, and Domenic.

He also leaves to mourn his brother Miraldo (Rita) and sisters Maria (Francesco), Teresa (Pasquale) and Claudia (Rudolfo), many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law as well as friends here and in his hometown of Schio.

He came to Vancouver in 1956 landing in Halifax, before making his way to Vancouver. Within 2 days of arriving in Vancouver he began working on the sea to sky highway. In his first years in Canada he worked throughout BC working on various construction projects and mills.

He started his family later in life probably because he was too stubborn to settle for anyone except his beloved wife Eva-Marie whom he married January 20, 1979. He was a dedicated hard-working husband, father and Nonno. He would spend countless early mornings and evenings taking his kids to all their sporting events and practices, he loved working on his garden or around the house never resting for too long before finding another project. He was strong in his faith and remained strong throughout caring for his wife who was diagnosed and succumb to brain cancer in August of 2009. Domenico was called home by our Lord on May 15, 2020; after years of illness we are consoled by the fact that our father, brother, uncle, and Nonno, is now at peace and can be reunited with his Beloved Wife Eva-Marie.

The Family would like to thank everyone involved in his care, including the staff at Royal Columbian Kidney clinic, and his final days at Hawthorne Senior Care Facility. A public Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m., with a private funeral and burial service to follow. In lieu of flowers we would ask for donations to be made to the kidney foundation of Canada at www.Kidney.ca.
