Fit Paltrow credits lockdown with helping her find inner peace
Gwyneth Paltrow is keeping in shape during the ongoing coronavirus lockdown by taking walks and online yoga classes.
The actress is doing her best to stick to her workouts amid the global health crisis and she’s making every effort to fight the fatigue she experiences while working on her lifestyle brand, GOOP, from home.
“I try to do exercises every day for my back and neck because of all the Zoom calls I’m on,” she tells Shape. The Shakespeare in Love star also goes for strolls with husband Brad Falchuk, adding, “My husband, Brad, and I take a walk at least three or four times a week.”
Paltrow has also relied on technology for exercise.
“I’ve been doing a lot of online classes: Tracy Anderson, the Class by Taryn Toomey, Bulldog Yoga, CorePower Yoga,” she shares.
The mom of two has also grown to appreciate the downtime, sharing that she has been given the chance to spend more time with her family.
“Now I feel different, letting my body go to sleep and wake up in its natural rhythm, having my kids around all the time, eating meals together and having meaningful conversations,” she shares. “We linger at the table; our dinners are an hour and a half long. My heart feels fuller, and my mind feels calmer in that respect.”
She adds, “I had not realized how much the normal pace of life was overburdening our bodies, our minds, and our nervous systems. As we have been forced into the confines of our own homes, that has brought up a lot of emotional distress for some, and for others it has been very peaceful. In my case, I have experienced both.”
“One of my kids is just not into going for walks, and I thought, ‘Oh my goodness, we need to just get out of the house,’ and she said, ‘I want to bring the cat,’ so we ordered the stroller.” — Jennifer Garner explains why she has been spotted out and about with a cat in a stroller.
