LAVERY, Jeanette Elizabeth

-

October 22, 1949 - June 11, 2020 We are absolutely heartbroken to announce the sudden death of Jeanette Elizabeth Lavery (nee Needley) at Royal Columbian Hospital after suffering a heart attack. Jeanette was a very loving and much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Predeceased by her mother and father Jean and Bill Needley, and her dear brother Douglas Needley, she will be sorely missed by her husband of 45 years, Hugh Lavery, their two wonderful sons Matthew and Daniel, daughtersin-law Tanis and Brielle, her beautiful 4 month old grandson Benjamin (son of Matt and Tan), her sister and best friend Judith, her many in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends. Jeanette was born in Vancouver and graduated from Van Tech in 1967. She went on to Vancouver City College and then UBC to become an elementary school teacher. She taught in Burnaby and then, after being married, in Maple Ridge. Jeanette and Hugh settled in Port Coquitlam to raise their family. She left the public school system when her sons were born but she did continue to teach piano privately, and then became a Weight Watchers leader. But her greatest priority was dedicating herself to being the best mom and partner ever, and she was very excited about embracing her new role as grandma. The world is not nearly as bright without her wonderful smile and laughter. We are absolutely heartbroken. A celebration of Jeanette’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to the Heart and Stroke fund or the BC Cancer Foundation. Arrangements made by Burkeview Chapel, First Memorial Funeral Services.
