GIBSON, Audrey Grace

Mar. 1, 1928 - Jun. 19, 2020

-

Audrey left us peacefully at the age of 92. Born to Scottish immigrant parents in Vancouver, she spent her whole life in BC. Predeceased by her husband Les, Audrey is survived by her sister June (Ken) and brother-in-law Ken, and her five children; April (Jim), Randy (Angela), Gregory (Thea), Laura (Jed) and Jamie (Tiffany). Audrey was a loving Grandma to thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She will also be greatly missed by her many other relatives and friends.

Her long life was filled with family, friends, laughter and music. After marrying in 1948 Les and Audrey raised their family in Maple Ridge. With five kids there was always controlled chaos. The pool parties were legendary. After retirement, in 1993 Audrey and Les moved to Summerland. They quickly added more good friends, and settled into retired life, often interrupted by family and friends who were welcomed enthusiastically for holiday weekends and vacations. After Les passed in late 1999 Audrey returned to Maple Ridge. She loved dancing, playing the accordion and organ, and enjoying family and friends, old and new.

The family would like to thank the caring Staff at Willow Manor, and most recently Holyrood Manor for their care of Audrey during her final years.

Due to current circumstances, the family will delay a Celebration of Audrey's life until it is safe to gather.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer Society of B.C. or B.C. Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
