-

Oct. 25, 1947 - Jun. 15, 2020

It is with gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Paul. Predeceased by parents Howard and Margaret Hendershot, he leaves behind Linda, loving wife of 45 years, siblings Kathleen (Jacques), Hilary (Malcolm), and Bill (Suzanne), son Aaron (Heike), granddaughter Lotte, daughter Megan (Matt), grandson Fletcher, and cherished nieces, nephews and friends.

Paul grew up in Harrow, Ontario, moving to Windsor as a teen. A talented athlete, Paul played football for Kennedy Collegiate, receiving consecutive All-City Athlete Awards. Playing football for the Golden Hawks was the highlight of his time at Waterloo Lutheran University. Deep bonds were forged with teammates. Paul was voted MVP in his final year. A CFL draft brought Paul to Edmonton, where he met Linda. They moved West in the 70's, where Paul played for the Vancouver Kats Rugby Club. In 1980, Paul founded an industrial sweeping business. Hard work, integrity, and long hours contributed to his success until he retired in 2019. Paul was a content soul who danced to his own tune. He was creative, evidenced by his backyard pond, rooftop deck, and other labours of love. Paul loved his kids and was so proud of them.

The family extends gratitude to health care professionals who cared for Paul. In lieu of flowers, Paul would have liked you to get out and enjoy nature; we encourage you to do so in fond memory of him. Donations can be made in his honour to Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
