They say: A new sunscreen formulation from Vichy that features five per cent niacinamide and peptides, in addition to the broadspectrum protection UVA/UVB sun protection, to correct the appearance of fine lines and dark spots while protecting skin from sun damage.

We say: A dedicated sunscreen wearer — ahem, and former sun worshipper — our 60-year-old tester found this sunscreen and skin-care product gave a nice dose of skin-smoothing moisture. A few pumps applied to the face and neck provided lightweight, non-greasy sun protection.

TERRACOTTA HEALTHY GLOW POWDER BLUSH

They say: The famous Terracotta collection gets a blushing new addition with these powder blush compacts from Guerlain. Featuring 90 per cent naturally derived ingredients, the matte-finish blushes feature argan oil for a soft, silky finish.

We say: These blushes have impressive colour payoff. Our tester found a sweep with a brush through the compact yielded a natural flush of colour that could be built up for a more dramatic blush look. The shade Blush 05, Deep Coral, is a fastfavourite, and offers a welcome hue departure from the usual rosy pink offerings.

ANNABELLE

PERFECT FIT ULTRA-HYDRATING CONCEALER

They say: This hydrating concealer from the Canadian beauty brand Annabelle features one per cent hyaluronic acid, along with niacinamide, caffeine and Vitamin E to boost hydration and smoothness while reducing the appearance of eye-area imperfections.

We say: This concealer punches above its price range, performing like a prestige product. A little goes a long way, and the applicator wand tip worked nicely to smooth the creamy concealer around the eye area. Our tester found the formula masked dark circles while leaving skin looking more hydrated and smooth.
