ADAMS, Elizabeth (Liz) Dorothy

-

February 12, 1962 – February 1, 2024

Much loved daughter of Cliff and Donna Adams and sister to Leslie and Doug (Carol). Predeceased by her parents and brother Dan (June 1974). Auntie to Andrew (Megan), Christopher (Brianne and Calder), Joshua and Julia, each whom she loved like her own. Liz passed peacefully after determined efforts to deal with a serious 2022 stroke. Liz’s early years were in New Westminster and she attended school in Vancouver with summers at Crescent Beach. After graduating, she enjoyed Katimavik in rural BC and particularly in Quebec. Liz was interested in the arts and early on was part of a theatre troupe touring 5 southern states. In 1981, she trained as an early childhood educator and worked in the field for much of the next 2 decades. Liz liked working with young people and also volunteered with various programs over the years including Pearson Hospital, Broadway Youth Centre and several Vancouver Folk Festivals. She pursued a range of creative activities and music was a lifelong passion. While Liz had numerous health issues, her faith gave her inner strength to overcome some high hurdles. Throughout, she kept her sense of humour and no nonsense but caring spirit. Her love for her cat Sweetie also gave her much comfort. Family and friends are very thankful to those who doctored, nursed and cared for her. We will dearly miss Liz. A Memorial honouring her life will be held on March 30 at Creekside Community Centre (Olympic Village), 2nd floor, One Athletes Way at 1 p.m. Parking downstairs, close to Main Street-Science World Skytrain Station. If you like, donations may be made to Paws for Hope or a health organization of your choice.
