It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother. Gloria was predeceased by her husband Mark in 2013. She leaves behind her loving family; brother Robin Tait (Darlene) sons Blake (Susan), Bradley, daughter Gail Lightheart (Mark), grandchildren; Kimberley Gould (Adam) Corey Lightheart (Chelsea), Mitchell Andreassen , Jake and Ally Andreassen; four great grandchildren, Austin, Hailey, Jack, Tate as well as nieces and nephews. Gloria was born and raised in Duncan BC, the family later moved to Vancouver where she graduated from Kitsilano High School. She married Mark Andreassen in 1955 in Vancouver. Mark and Gloria built their dream home on Glencanyon Dr in North Vancouver in 1960 and lived there until Mark's passing. Mom and Dad's greatest joy and now their legacy was buying the little cabin at Osprey Lake. Mom had a true pioneering spirit and thought nothing of spending a week in the middle of nowhere fishing with three little kids. Mark and Gloria spent many winters skiing and entertaining their many friends and family at their property at Whistler. She loved her large vegetable garden and was known for planting plants and flowers anywhere she could. As well as gardening Mom loved to sew, knit, do needlepoint and was a veracious reader.

Mom spent her last couple of years at Sunrise Senior Living in North Van where she met many wonderful people and was active in the community until the end. Thank you to the caring staff who made Mom's last few weeks so comfortable. A huge hole has been left in our lives, but our memories will last a lifetime. At Mom's request a family celebration will be held. A donation in Gloria's memory can be made to St. Paul's Hospital Foundation.
