Eliminators gearing up for 38th annual Riverside Run
Special interest vehicles from across Western Canada will be converging on Swift Current this weekend for the 38th annual Riverside Run hosted by the Eliminators Car Club.
The public is again invited to the Show and Shine event on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at Riverside Park. An expected 120 unique vehicles will be on display, including a wide range of restored classics and hot rods, along with some motorcycles and trucks.
One of the features during the Show and Shine is the valve cover races, where participants build a pinewood derby-esque car from a valve cover off of an engine and race it on a short track. Since this activity is always a kids favourite, this year organizers are encouraging children to bring they’re favourite toy car and try the track out too.
Individuals attending the Show and Shine are encouraged to bring a food bank donation for the Salvation Army.
Participants of the Riverside Run will enjoy a cruise evening on Friday before a meet and greet hospitality night. Saturday boasts a supper and party for participants. Their weekend wraps up on Sunday with a morning breakfast.
