Thunderwolves best battered Badgers

- ROD MAWHOOD SPECIAL TO POSTMEDIA NETWORK

Six players. That’s all the Brock Badgers women’s basketball team could dress as they hosted their first home playoff game in three years.

Injuries hampered the Badgers all season long and it came to an unfortunate crescendo earlier this week when star guard, and Welland native, Bridget Atkinson was diagnosed with a concussion.

Brock did not go to the foul line a single time in the game … The Badgers did drain seven 3-pointers in the loss … Allie Columbus (knee) was the other Brock player out due to injury … Badgers rookie Shannon Northey had a game high 14 rebounds in the loss … Both teams entered the contest with identical 8-11 records, but Brock was the higher seed due to RPI (Rating Performance Index) which in laymen terms means wins over higher ranked teams.
