The homegrown detective drama, which has proven a well-rated summer offering, airs the new season 2 episode Between a Doc and a Hard Place. In it, Angie (Cindy Sampson) and Shade (Jason Priestley) are hired to find out who’s targeting a pro-bono medical clinic. (Global)

The Gong Show

Dana Carvey, Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson are the judges Thursday on the rebooted wacky talent show. The series, executive-produced by Toronto native Will Arnett, is hosted by British comedian Tommy Maitland — who is really Toronto native Mike Myers in costume and makeup, with a British accent. Battle of the Network Stars

The celebrity sports competitio­n pits stars from variety shows against TV sex symbols. Among the contestant­s: Joanna Krupa, Nick Lachey, Vanessa Lachey, Gilles Marini, Jack Osbourne, Keegan Allen, Traci Bingham, Rosa Blasi, Brant Daugherty and Galen Gering. (ABC)

The Night Shift

The instalment Do No Harm sees Jordan (Jill Flint) and Cain (Mark Consuelos) figure out their profession­al dynamic. In the surgery room, Drew (Brendan Fehr) and Paul (Robert Bailey Jr.) must find a way to save a patient’s severed hand. And meanwhile, Annie (Sarah Jane Morris) shows up to the hospital with an unexpected guest from Scott’s (Scott Wolf) past and TC (Eoin Macken) and Amira (Rana Roy) treat a Syrian child on the base. Saving Hope

In another hospital drama — this time a homegrown one airing its fifth and final season — Alex (Erica Durance) is challenged about the value of holistic medicine and Charlie’s (Michael Shanks) abilities are questioned. Then, Hope Zion Hospital comes under the lens as two filmmakers visit. (CTV)

Zoo

The new episode Diaspora sees Logan (Josh Salatin) and Jackson (James Wolk) find a link between hybrid attacks. Plus, Mitch (Billy Burke) is questioned by a woman who claims to be Clementine and a new developmen­t in Abraham’s (Nonso Anozie) research puts his family in danger. (CBS/ CTV)

Fameless

Back-to-back episodes air Thursday. In the first, Close Encounters, a stakeout for illegal aliens turns otherworld­ly. Then a jokester’s prank has an unintended reaction, and a style queen patrols for crimes of fashion. The second instalment, titled Mayan Ruined, sees a jealous girlfriend come out swinging when a dating show does not go her way. Also, a prankster’s shot at fame is cursed after he accidental­ly ruins a museum, and the Pitch Fit panel returns. (Much)

Boy Band

Moving from Fameless to aspiring famous, a new episode of the competitio­n series Boy Band airs. Six vocalists come together as a band, rehearse and perform on stage for the architects. Then, the architects decide who’s getting sent home. The archeticts — who can be thought of as mentors and mastermind­s — are Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, Spice Girl Emma Bunton and music producer Timbaland. British singer-actress Rita Ora hosts.
