Kiwanis aquatic programs moved to October
Aquatic programs will resume at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatic Centre on Monday Oct. 2., with fall programs being rescheduled from their original start date of Sept. 11 to Oct 2. to allow for repairs to the ceiling, of which a section collapsed unexpectedly in July.
All fall programs listed in the city’s leisure guide will still be offered, though programs will be shortened to either nine or 10 weeks, depending on the program, says the city.
Online registration for all fall and winter programs will still begin Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 6
p.m. and only fall aquatic programs are affected by the repairs. Other fall recreation programs and winter aquatic programs will run as listed in the Leisure Guide.
City staff are currently updating ePlay — the city’s recreation registration system — with revised start dates and prices for fall aquatic programs.
A copy of the revised fall aquatics programming schedule will also be available at, stcatharines. ca/LeisureGuide and at city recreation facilities as of Monday.
“It’s great to have a start date for our fall aquatic programs,” said Phil Cristi, acting director of parks, recreation and culture services.
“It’s unfortunate we have to delay the start of aquatic programming, but ensuring the safety of patrons and staff is most important. We look forward to welcoming the community back to the pool.”
The pool in Port Dalhousie will remain open until late September.
