The bench: This is Jody Hull’s sixth season as head coach; he’s been with the club since 2005.

Last year: 42-21-2-3 89 points, first in East; swept in third round by Mississaug­a.

Big names: If Dylan Wells (Oilers) can be goalie of the year candidate, the Petes will be laughing . . . Matthew Timms (11-52-63) led the team in scoring from the back end (not including Leafs pick Nikita Korostelev’s production with Sarnia). He was third among all defencemen . . . Jonathan Ang (Panthers) is capable of being one of the most dangerous forwards in the league. Now’s the time . . . Logan DeNoble, a hometown captain candidate, has 40-goal potential. The stat: Last year the Petes reached the 40-win mark for the first time since 2006 — their most recent OHL title.

Prediction: They’ll finish atop the East again.

MISSISSAUG­A STEELHEADS

The bench: Second-year coach James Richmond is now GM too Last year: 34-21-6-7 81 points, second in East; lost in OHL final to Erie in 5.

Big names: Owen Tippett (Panthers) scored 44 goals on 284 shots last year. You can see him going for 60 and over 300 this time . . . Will the McLeod brothers be teammates again? That’s up to Michael (Devils) and his NHL preseason performanc­e . . . Nicolas Hague (Golden Knights) will get 20 goals and 100 penalty minutes as a rearguard. Book it . . . The Trout used a 16-year-old goalie 31 times last year. Jacob Ingham represente­d himself well. Now the ante has been upped.

The stat: They won the weak Central Division last season running away despite losing 20 of their first 26 games. They rallied after sitting at the bottom of the OHL standings into December.

Prediction: They’ll win the Central again.
