Thanks for Battle of Britain parade and ceremony support
On behalf of the 434 and 484 Wings of the Royal Canadian Air Force Association, I would like to thank those people and organizations without whom the recognition of the 77th annual Battle of Britain would not have been possible.
Thank you to the City of Port Colborne, Mayor John Maloney, executive assistant Nancy Giles, the city works department, Port Colborne firefighters, police and paramedics. Without them we could not have been able to come to Port Colborne and successfully host this historic event.
Thank you to MP Vance Badawey, Pelham Mayor David Augustyn, Wainfleet Mayor April Jeffs and Bob Saracino representing MPP Cindy Forster for their affirmation of the importance in remembering and celebrating annually the Battle of Britain.
Special thanks to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 56 ladies auxiliary for putting on a delicious luncheon for everyone to enjoy.
An important thank you to the two local pilots who flew the Second World War T28 trainer and the iconic Harvard aircraft for three fly pasts over city hall.
Most important is to thank the air cadets, sea cadets, Branch 56 colour party, veterans and citizens of Port Colborne who realized the importance of remembering this historic event.
Thank you, all.
