Super-idol brings new twist to Survivor

-

Survivor

Season 35 kicks off, as the castaways battle to prove which group has what it takes to win: the heroes, healers or hustlers. Also, one tribe will earn an advantage when the game is immediately “ignited” by the season’s first challenge, and there is a super-idol that comes with a new twist. As always, Jeff Probst hosts.

Designated Survivor

The political drama returns for a second season. One year into office, U.S. President Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) is determined to rebuild the Capitol after the catastrophic attack and capture those responsible. Also, a hijacked Russian plane puts Kirkman’s diplomatic skills to the test.

Modern Family

In Lake Life, the season 9 premiere, Jay (Ed O’Neill) forces the family to take their vacation on a house boat on a lake. Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) runs into an old flame, Cam (Eric Stonestreet) must avoid the sun and Phil (Ty Burrell) and Claire (Julie Bowen) try out some adventurous excursions.

Criminal Minds

The crime drama returns with the episode Wheels Up. Agent Matt Simmons (Daniel Henney) joins the BAU team in a race to take down Mr. Scratch (Bodhi Elfman) and save one of their own in the process.

The Blacklist

Season 5 debuts. In Smokey Putnum, Red’s (James Spader) criminal empire is in ruins, and he enlists Liz (Megan Boone) in an unlikely plan to earn cash and deliver a new Blacklister to the Task Force. Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff ) finds himself in a precarious position and Tom (Ryan Eggold) weighs his options.

Empire

Season 4’s premiere, Noble Memory, sees Lucious (Terrence Howard) make his first public appearance after the explosion in Las Vegas. The Lyon family members each have their own interests in Lucious regaining his faculties.

Face Value

It’s the premiere of this new game show from executive producer Wanda Sykes. Face Value awards cash and prizes for correctly guessing facts about strangers from all walks of life — based solely on their appearance and a few personal details. The goal is to break down stereotypes and expose prejudices. Hosted by Deon Cole.

Chicago P.D.

The police drama returns for a fifth season. A young bystander is shot during a difficult operation, and Chief Lugo (Esai Morales) reviews the shootout and Halstead becomes a key player in the outcome.

Flip or Flop Atlanta

This home-renovation spinoff debuts with the episode Big Money in Buckhead. Ken and Anita Corsini get a bargain on an ugly 1970s split-level house in the sophisticated neighbourhood of Buckhead that’s more expensive than their typical flips, but the potential for profit is too good to pass up.
