Niagara Regional Police are looking for a man who robbed a St. Catharines pharmacy of drugs Monday.

Police said the man was armed with a weapon when he demanded narcotics at the Tremont Medical Pharmacy at 2 Tremont Dr. about 4:20 p.m..

He took off before police arrived and was last seen running through the Pendale Plaza parking lot by the McDonald’s with medication in a brown paper bag.

No one was injured.

Police said the suspect was white, in his mid-20s, with a medium build and 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-6 in height. He was wearing a red and white striped, short-sleeved collared shirt, a black baseball hat turned backward, sunglasses, light grey track pants with a stripe down the side and dark running shoes. Police are asking anyone with information to call 905-688-4111 ext. 4286.

Niagara-on-the-Lake residents who would like to see an indoor pool built in the town will have a chance to join a new committee to gather information and determine the need for such as facility.

In July, Coun. Paolo Miele’s motion that a fact-finding committee of councillors, staff and residents be established was narrowly supported by council. Miele had argued there are a number of residents with a variety of expertise who could help council explore its options.

On Monday, the town’s corporate services advisory committee approved the draft terms of reference for the new committee. Miele, along with Couns. Martin Mazza and Terry Flynn and parks staff will serve on the committee. Advertisements will be placed by the town to fill the four positions for residents.
