Honourees given 2017 Trillium Awards
St. Catharines residents who make the city a more beautiful place were honoured at the 2017 Trillium Awards. Thirteen properties were recognized on Monday during a special reception at city hall. The nominations were made over the summer.
Club Roma at 125 Vansickle Rd. received the Mayor’s Beautification Award for best overall property. Della Trojan, chair of the Friends of Walker’s Creek, received the Green Leader Award for making significant contributions to greening the community and inspiring others to do the same.
The Commercial/Industrial Property Award was given to 43 Church St.
Civic Beautification Awards were bestowed on one or two properties per ward.

St. Andrew’s Ward — Reinhart residence, 6 Shepherds Cir. and Nirmalan Nadarajapillai and Vaithki Manickavasagar, 83 Mac Turnbull Dr. St. Patrick’s Ward — Baker residence, 155½ Lake St. Merritton Ward — Mclean residence, 58 Shetland Cres. and Miller residence, 9 Hessford Rd.
Port Dalhousie Ward — Kreuk residence, 1 Cheritan Crt. and Large residence, 18 Juliana Cres.
St. Andrew’s Ward — Golob residence, 19 Gormley Cres. and Winger residence, 27 Currie St. Grantham Ward — Fedorchuk residence, 17 Trelawne Dr. and Boisvert residence, 21 Old Oxford Rd.
