Petrowski compares transgender minister to “Sodom and Gomorrah.”

-

St. Catharines Coun. Andy Petrowski has compared a British church hiring a transgendered minister to the most infamous cities in the Old Testament. On his Twitter page, which is now named “Trump or Bust” and goes under the handle “@LiberalTyranny”, Petrowski posted a story about a transgendered woman in the U.K. becoming a Methodist minister. “Welcome to Sodom & Gomorrah Part II,” Petrowski tweeted about the story. The Nov. 27 tweet is pinned to the top of Petrowski’s Twitter profile.

In biblical mythology, Sodom and Gomorrah were cities so wicked

God destroyed them, killing their inhabitants. In some Christian circles, the wickedness of Sodom and Gomorrah are used as metaphors for supposed sin of homosexuality.

Twitter user John Halloran replied to Petrowski’s tweet saying, “This is a abomination and is not pleasing to God. It would be better if they were never born in the first place.”

Petrowski wrote back saying, “Unfortunately, ‘abomination’ means nothing to the masses as the Word has been trodden down by Liberals who choose to worship Baal over Jehovah Elohim. The world is sick and it will not escape His wrath in the 2nd Coming.” Baal, or Ba’al, is sometimes considered to be a rival deity to Yahweh, or Jehovah — names Christians assign to God — in the Old Testament. In some Christian denominations, Baal is synonymous with the devil, although many scholars have identified Baal” as simply another name for Yahweh in the texts.

Petrowski did not respond to questions about his tweet.

In the past, Petrowski’s tweets on homosexuality, gay marriage and Muslims have earned him rebuke from the community and regional council. Former integrity commissioner John Mascarin found Petrowski’s tweets about Islam contravened Niagara Region council’s code of code. In September Petrowski apologized for any tweets about Islam that contained “inaccurate information.”
