A new year, a new job at Sitel Group in St. Catharines

The start of a new year can also mean the start of a new career, one that offers opportunities for growth, flexible hours, a familylike work environment and paid training.

Since opening its doors in 2001, Sitel Group in St. Catharines has been offering comprehensive customer care within the telecommunications industry. Now, with two new and exciting clients on board, Sitel is looking to add 100 to 200 new employees who are committed to providing exemplary customer service.

“Over the past 17 years, Sitel has created a family environment and we’re looking to add new members to that family,” said Jay Robertson, site director for Sitel. “Sitel is a company that you can start out on the front lines taking phone calls, and move up into a management position creating a long-term career. As a global company, there is a lot of opportunity to grow.”

In addition to its long-term U.S. telecommunications company, Sitel now provides support to an app based grocery service and Quickbooks accounting software. The app-based grocery service allows mobile users to select the groceries of their choice to be delivered to their front door. Newly hired Sitel employees will provide customer service for both the shoppers and the customers placing orders. Users of the small business tool Quickbooks will receive customer support on a variety of issues ranging from payroll to billing inquiries to assistance with technical issues.

Investing in its employees, Sitel offers fully paid training to all its new hires in both the Englishspeaking customer service associate roles, and the bilingual positions which include entry level customer service associates, supervisory roles and quality analysts. Wages for employees working with these new clients start at $15 per hour for customer service associates, $16.50 per hour for bilingual associates, and all employees are offered medical and dental benefits. The company also offers a robust rewards program to encourage and reward exemplary performance.

In addition to providing a welcoming work environment, Sitel believes in engaging with the local community and offers employees the opportunity to get involved in grassroots fundraising initiatives. In 2017 employees worked to contribute to the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Big Bike Ride and the Rankin Run for Cancer.

“We pick charitable organizations that have meaning to our employees,” said Robertson. “We have 500 employees who live in the Niagara area so it’s important that we are involved in giving back to the community, something that we will continue to do in 2018.”

If you are looking to make a change for the new year and are seeking a new job, a place to grow and call home, Sitel is hosting a job fair on January 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at its St. Catharines facility or you can drop in Monday to Friday to speak to a recruiter. Interested applicants can also apply online at www.sitel. com. Employee training begins as early as February 11, 2018 and will run two to four weeks depending on the position.
