Half Pints roll out full effort

As we near the halfway mark of the last segment of the Niagara 5-Pin Mixed Pro League season, each win becomes more crucial.

Rob Macdonald took matters into his own hands as he piloted his Scorecard Harry’s Half Pints to a 2-1 decision over the Lakeside Electrical Lightning. Macdonald had a super 827 (205, 328, 294) set, while getting help from Adam Eckhardt’s 696 (241, 243) and Mickey Pikor’s 652 (259).

The Lightning shot back with Shawn Pellizari’s 781 (274, 222, 285) and Tyler Wendel’s 740 (277, 265). In the closest match of the evening, decided by only six pins, the Oh Canada Eh Dinner Show Canucks edged the Oh Canada Eh Dinner Show Town Criers 2-1. Rob Fisher led the Canucks attack with a sizzling 824 (292, 236, 296) while being helped along by Dave Pendlebury’s 704 (238, 306).

The Town Criers answered with Chris Disher’s 747 (243, 213, 291) and Myke Mercier who added 699 (252, 247). The Dale Mellway Life Insurance Magic took two of three from the Reggie’s Renovation­s Inc. Hammerhead­s. Joanne Durocher paced the Magic with a solid 741 (225, 274, 242) while Devon Pellizari was close behind with 733 (242, 238, 253) and Matt Kowalyk checked in with 727 (271, 226, 230). The Hammerhead­s’ Paul Asselin had 747 (288, 209, 250) and Frank Newman with 727 (201, 334).

In the evening’s final match, the Crossfire Wrestling Piledriver­s slammed the Wine Place Whiners 2-1. Chantal Papineau had the hot hand for the Piledriver­s, firing a steady 777 (264, 223, 290) while John Wendel pitched in with 699 (256, 226). The Whiners returned fire with Sara Kennedy’s 775 (277, 292, 206) and P.J. Cole’s 715 (238, 248, 229).
