Half Pints come up short against Lightning

Positional roll-off underway in 5-pin mixed pro league

Adam Eckhardt turned in his best series of the season in the first positional roll-off of the third segment in the Niagara 5-Pin Mixed Pro League at PlaMor Bowl in Port Dalhousie.

Eckhardt tossed a sizzling 841 triple (304) for Scorecard Harry’s Half Pints only to fall short 1-2 against their opponent Lakeside Electrical Lightning.

Eckhardt received help from Rob MacDonald throwing a 741 (307).

The Lightning fought with Shawn Pellizari’s 763 (283) and Tyler Wendel’s 735 (265). Heading into the final three weeks of the season, the Lightning are hot on the heels of the Half Pints only trailing by a mere two points.

Reggie’s Renovation’s Hammerhead­s body-slammed the Crossfire Wrestling Piledriver­s 3-0 lead by veteran Paul Asselin’s 813 (277).

Wendy Bonnette tossed a steady 699 (252) to help the cause.

The Piledriver­s replied with Chantal Papineau’s sizzling 804 (306). John Wendel chipped in with a 674 (256).

Elsewhere, the Dale Mellway Life Insurance Magic stayed afloat in the standings with a 2-1 victory against the Oh Canada Eh! Dinner Show Canucks as Matty Kowalyk spun off a superb 793 (282, 270), Brian McFarlane added to the win with a 766 (329) and Joanne Durocher fired off a 703 (262).

Replying for the Canucks was current men’s second high average Rob Fisher turning in a stellar 849 (293, 288).

The final match of the evening witnessed the Wine Place Whiners handing the Oh Canada Eh! Dinner Show Town Criers a 2-1 loss led by Norm Stup tossing a 766 (300), while young P.J. Cole chipped in with a 754 (286) and Trish Bosje 637 (263).

Myke Mercier reeled off a 739 (303) and captain Chris Disher rolled a steady 676 (272) for the Town Criers.
