Police rule out foul play after body discovered

-

Niagara Regional Police officers have completed their investigation after the discovery of a man’s body in a home in the Trinidad Crescent and Shoreline Drive area of St. Catharines.

Following an autopsy, foul play is not suspected, said NRP spokesperson Stephanie Sabourin.

“No further details will be provided out of respect to next of kin,” she said.

Officers were called to the home at 39 Trinidad Cres. Tuesday at about 11:30 a.m. for a welfare check. Firefighters were also called to the home.

“They had found evidence of a fire that had self-extinguished,” Dave Upper, the deputy chief, said. “We sent one truck to ensure the fire was out, and to check the air quality.”
