Liberals the cause of electoral polarization, says reader

RE: WHY WE SHOULD CARE THAT WE’RE HEADED FOR A POLARIZING ELECTION, APRIL 20, OPINION COLUMN BY JOHN MILLOY

Polarizing environments are created when situations are taken out of balance to the extreme. Politically that is exactly what happened in Ontario.

Ontarians have been hit hard with hurtful extreme left-wing policies under 15 years of Liberal government. Large groups of Ontarians have been marginalized, discriminated against and ignored, while the quality of life has diminished for many, the cost of living has skyrocketed, the poverty rate has increased and our economical and financial situations have worsened.

In stark contrast are government bureaucrats in a CEO, executive or upper managing position receiving disproportionally large salaries and generous bonuses in spite of the dismal state of affairs in their departments. And lastly the union-backed government employees with the help of Liberal arbitrators forcing overrated pay increases on taxpayers.

Standard & Poor’s downgraded Ontario’s credit rating from a double A-negative to an A-plus in 2015 due to a combination of a high debt burden and a weak budgetary performance. People in Ontario have lost hope and confidence in this Liberal government, which has a record of incompetence, mismanagement and corruption. People are looking for relief under this heavy yoke this government has put on them.

The Liberals’ strong will to remain in power at any cost and vicious attacks on the opposition explain the reason of this polarization.
