Trump unjustly criticized: Reader

-

It’s difficult to watch the “tolerant” U.S. Democrats bake in their own hatred of all-things-Trump. A total disrespect of the man and the office of president. It's been anti-everything Trump and attacks from every angle possible.

The latest siege, is what the left claims “Trump’s immigration policy,” literally ripping children out of the arms of parents. A sobbing Rachel Maddow and countless CNN hosts clearly making the false “policy” claim repeatedly, does not and should not lend credibility to their overt bias.

First, this is not Trump’s immigration policy. These immigration laws are just that, laws, that have been in place since 2008.

The U.S. immigration system has been broken for decades but no party has had the guts to repair it.

Current laws are definitive that immigrants shall enter through designated ports of entry. Anything else is considered “illegal.” It is Mr. Trump that is enforcing existing immigration law. And he is right to do so. Bush and Obama both played the “catch and release” system that literally ignored the law and has become problematic.

Congress needs to alter the laws. Families need not be separated, yet the Democrats are not willing to co-operate with Trump on anything other than complete amnesty for all illegals. An open border is insane. But it's gaining traction because, Trump, the left and the Democrats still can’t get over their loss in 2016.

If I were Trump, I’d amend the laws myself, build the wall, and carry on. William Morgan
