Seahawks blank atom Steelers
Fort Erie teams go 3-0 against Falls in minor football
Joshua Savoie scored two touchdowns to lead the visiting St. Catharines Seahawks to a 30-0 victory over the West Niagara Steelers in Niagara Regional Minor Football Association atom division action in Smithville.
Alexander Caizza and Ezekiel Langendoen also scored touchdowns for St. Catharines, as did Nathan Vandermeer who also recovered a fumble.
Jach Dolch had the other fumble recovery for the Seahawks.
Longhorns 33, Lions 31
At Niagara Falls, Marco Angelini scored three touchdowns and Lucas Panuci two as the Lions edged the visiting Fort Erie atoms.
Panuci and Angelini added two- and one-point converts, respectively.
Jordan Payne, with four; and Gavin Vasquez, one; scored touchdowns for the Longhorns. Cameron Macrae rounded out the Fort Erie scoring with a convert.
Steelers 26, Tiger-Cats 6
Lucas Hazelton scored three touchdowns and teammate William McDevitt one in host West Niagara’s peewee division victory over Welland.
Jayden Gurzi-MacDonald kicked an extra point for the
Steelers.
Sean Perry accounted for the Ticats scoring with a touchdown.
Longhorns 50, Argonauts 14
In Sunday’s other peewee game, Grant Spada and Max Heron each scored three touchdowns as visiting Fort Erie defeated Niagara Falls.
Colin LaRoche and Ryan Shultz had a touchdown and one-point convert, respectively for the Longhorns.
Spada had three, two-point converts and Ryan Shultz one in the win.
Austin MacRae, with two touchdowns; and Carson Gauthier, two-point convert; scored for the Argos.
Longhorns 44, Argonauts 6
Visiting Fort Erie completed a three-division sweep in the Niagara Parkway rivalry with Niagara Falls a convincing win in bantam action .
Kaiden Craft, Kody Macrae, two touchdowns apiece; Nole General, touchdown, two-point conversion; Lucas Smith, touchdown; and D.J. Soso Jr., touchdown; put points on the scoreboard for the Longhorns.
Owen Lee and Soso had interceptions and Thomas Mete had a fumble recovery for Fort Erie.
Nevan Smith scored a touchdown and Arden Martinez recovered a fumble for the Argonauts.
Falcons 12, Tiger-Cats 7
West Niagara downed the visiting Welland bantams thanks to two touchdowns from Malachi Tempeny.
Christian Vandenberg, with two; Ben Marois and Nick Park recovered fumbles for the Falcons.
Nicholas Longo passed for a touchdown and Colton Kizlyk kicked a convert for the Ticats.
