A rider who is racing on the most wheels also has the most wins heading into the track championship at Welland County Speedway.

Chuck Graham of Embrun, Ont., southeast of Ottawa, improved to 5-0 in both the Open ATV and Production racing classes at the motorcycle track in Welland with feature wins on the weekend.

Graham’s 115 points give him a commanding lead over Mickie Vance, with 88 points; and Andrew Smith, 60; in the seasonlong race to the ATV Open track championship.

Top three in ATV Production are Graham, 115 points; Vance, 86; and Smith, 60.

Liam Caskie of Brantford is 6-0 in 65 cc and his 138 points lead Seth Little, with 118 points; and Seth Parsons, 98; in the race to the track championship.

Also undefeated in motorcycle racing at the dirt track this season is Burlington’s Adrian St. Amand. Her fifth win in as many starts in 85 cc increased her lead over Justin Ball in the rider standings to 115-111. Blake Silenzi is third, 110 points.

Taia Little of Welland won her fifth in a row in Youth 250 Novice after finishing second in the season opener. Little, 135; St. Amand, 94; and Ball, 89; are top three in points heading into a four-week break from racing at her hometown track.

Welland County Speedway’s next program is Saturday, Aug. 25, weather permitting.

Little finished second to Jacob Rainville in the Open Novice feature but still leads her fellow Wellander in the points, 125-115. Ryan Scavuzzo is third with 101 points.

Rainville lost some ground to Little in the DTX Novice points race with a third-place finish in last Saturday night’s feature. Little, who placed second behind Boyd Deadman, narrowed the deficit to 122-109.

Chippawa’s Hunter Bauer increased his points lead over Welland’s Dustin Lambert to an even dozen — 124-112 — with his second checkered flag of the season in DTX Intermediate. Sitting third in the standings is Justin Crumb, 102 points.

Lambert’s lead over Bauer in the Open Intermediate class narrowed to 125-122 after he trailed Jimmy McCullough and Bauer across the finish line in Saturday’s feature. Third in points is Logan Wilson, with 94.

Only five points separate the top four in Open Expert, and there’s a two-way tie atop the point standings in DTX Expert.

Tyler Seguin, Welland; Chris Evans, Jordan Station; Dustin Brown, Muskoka; and Don Taylor, Port Colborne; finished 1-23-4 in the Open Expert feature. After the dust settled from that full-throttle thriller, the point standings became Brown, 109; Evans, Taylor, each with 106; and Seguin, 104.

Taylor set the pace in the DTX Expert main event and Brown third, leaving each with a division-leading 109 points. Seguin and Evans, who placed fifth and eighth, respectively, in the feature, are tied for second in points with 106 apiece.

Sam Manyon of Akron, Ohio, finished second to Rick Gunby in the Veterans feature, but his 124 points remain tops in the racing class. Gunby, with 118; and Glen Brown, 82; are second and third, respectively.
