Just no half-measures for Half Pints

Shawn Pellizari kept his hot streak going in the Niagara 5-Pin Mixed Pro League.

Maintainin­g that pace, Pellizari landed the big blow of the evening tossing a super 847 (316, 235, 296) series to lead the Scorecard Harry’s Half Pints to a 3-0 whitewashi­ng of the Oh Canada Eh Dinner Show Canucks.

He wasn’t the only one with a hot hand though as Chris Disher backed him up with his second 800 set of this young season, rolling 817 (226, 298, 293), while Kayla Ferguson chipped in with 691 (241, 264).

Chantal Papineau led the Canucks’ reply with a solid 743 (257, 282, 204). Elsewhere, Brian McFarlane got into high gear as he put together his best set so far, a torrid 819 (300, 259, 260) to lead the Ontario Street Boston Pizza Brutes to a 3-0 blanking of the Lakeside Electrical Lightning. McFarlane had help from Jordan Gravelle’s 611 (223). The Lightning struck back with Adam Eckhard’s 660 (213, 250).

Jordan Terry tossed the ladies highest set of the season so far, a 804 (248, 281, 275) to spark the Reggie’s Renovation­s Inc. Hammerhead­s to a 2-1 decision over the Oh Canada Eh Dinner Show Town Criers. P.J. Cole rolled 647 (258, 248) for the winners while Valerie Vallee added 632 (238, 212). The Town Criers fought back with Brad Maurice’s 712 (304, 238), Kile Robins’ 711 (284, 229) and Mike Owen’s 708 (240, 278). In the evening’s final match, the closest one of the night, decided by only six pins, the league leading Dale Mellway Life Insurance Magic edged the Wine Place Whiners 2-1. Dave Pendlebury led the Magic charge with a solid 714 (241, 231, 242) while Paul Asselin checked in with 692 (240, 250). The Whiners replied with Rob Macdonald (234, 272) and Jeff Stevens (212, 262), both with 670.
