Bruce Campbell coming to next year’s Falls Comic Con
Next year’s Niagara Falls Comic Con just got more groovy.
“Evil Dead” icon Bruce Campbell has been booked for the three-day event, taking place June 7 to 9 at Scotiabank Convention Centre. It marks his first appearance at the Niagara Falls convention, and has long been on co-founder Chris Dabrowski’s wish list.
“All I know is, he was not available on previous Niagara Falls dates,” he says. “Most guests have a radius clause with other events within a time period, and the timing hasn’t been right for Bruce in Niagara Falls until now.”
Campbell and his wisecracking Q&A’s have long been a fan favourite at comic conventions. He appeared at last year’s Fan Expo in Toronto, and frequently takes his Last Fan Standing trivia show on the road.
“Fans from far and wide will be travelling to Niagara Falls to meet him in person,” says Dabrowski.
After making the classic “The Evil Dead” with friend Sam Raimi in the early ’80s, Campbell has parlayed his cheeky persona into a long career of B-movies, comic books, video games and TV shows. He has authored two bestselling books (“If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor” and “Hail to the Chin: Further Confessions of a B Movie Actor”), and recently revisited his character Ash from the Evil Dead films for three seasons of “Ash vs. Evil Dead.”
“He’s definitely one of the most iconic actors we’ve secured to date,” says Dabrowski.
