Seneca Casino postpones shows for next four months
The Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, N.Y., has postponed all of its shows through the end of September.
Like its Canadian counterparts Niagara Fallsview Casino and Casino Niagara, Seneca closed on March 16 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While all of its spring concerts were postponed, the casino did not announce until May 20 that its entire summer lineup and all of September would also be postponed.
It adds up to a six-month absence of live entertainment at Seneca.
The postponements affect shows at the Seneca Niagara Event Center and the smaller Seneca Niagara Bear’s Den.
Affected shows include Big & Rich, Belinda Carlisle and The Temptations. The show featuring Sammy Hagar and Night Ranger scheduled for July 25 has been cancelled.
Most other shows are in the process of being rescheduled.
Refunds are available for up to 14 days before the rescheduled date from the original point of ticket purchase. Those who purchased their tickets at the casino itself will have to wait until the facility opens again.
COVID-19 has also delayed the opening of the new 5,000seat entertainment centre at the Niagara Fallsview Casino.
All shows to the end of June have been either postponed or cancelled, including Kesha, Dierks Bentley and Paul Anka.
Comedian Iliza Shlesinger’s July 31 show has not yet been cancelled, while Larry the Cable Guy has rescheduled his show to Aug. 20.
New dates have also been posted for Jason Derule (Sept. 10), Alison Krauss (Sept. 17), Chelsea Handler (Oct. 9), Brad Paisley (Dec. 4) and REO Speedwagon (Dec. 9). The ZZ Top and Cheap Trick show will now take place nearly a year after its original date on May 7, 2021.
