Arrivecan a failure of government

-

Re: Arrivecan contractor faces parliamentary rebuke invoked for the second time in over 100 years, April 17

I’m still struggling to understand the purpose of dragging a private service provider into the House of Commons for a public admonishment. What was that anyway, the 21st century version of a public stoning in the town square?

Make no mistake about it, the Arrivecan disaster lies squarely on the gross mismanagement of the federal government and its minister. And where was that minister in charge of this botched contract when the House speaker stood up and announced, ”On behalf of the House of Commons, I admonish you.”

He should have been sitting in the seat right next to Kristian Firth accepting this public spanking. If the Liberals would spend less time on political theatre and focus more on the books, perhaps they could have presented their first balanced budget in the eight years they’ve been in power. Sadly, that ship has now passed.
