A couple convicted of conspiring to kill their spouses have been released on bail because both have filed appeals.

Angela Nicholson and Curtis Vey were convicted of conspiracy to commit murder against Jim Taylor and Brigitte Vey after a jury handed down the verdict in early June.

In a bail decision issued Sept. 21, a Saskatchewan Court of Appeal judge ruled Nicholson be granted bail under numerous conditions, including that she reside in Melfort and that she have no contact with Curtis Vey, Brigitte Vey or Jim Taylor.

In a separate ruling issued on Sept. 23, Vey was also granted bail under similar conditions, including that he have no contact with Jim Taylor and Angela Nicholson without legal counsel.

Vey must also refrain from consuming or possessing alcohol and cannot enter premises where the primary function is the sale of or consumption of alcohol.
