FM-PHASIS BEGINS

CFCR’s annual FM-Phasis fundraising drive, and slew of associated concerts, takes place from Sept. 30 to Oct. 15. You can donate by going to any FM-Phasis show, calling into the station at 306-242-5002 or going to cfcr.ca/donate. Here are five upcoming shows to celebrate the station’s 25th anniversary. 1 The Sheepdogs, Oct. 1, Amigos The Saskatoon band returns to one of the city’s best-loved smaller venues. Tickets cost $40 with all proceeds going to FM-Phasis.

The Sadies with The Heatscores, Oct. 8, Amigos

This show features veteran genreblending four-piece The Sadies with ‘The Originators of the Hub City Hot Rod Sound,’ The Heatscores for a one night only reunion.

Born Ruffians with Ponteix, Oct. 9, Amigos

Born Ruffians have been compared to the likes of the Talking Heads, the Pixies and The Strokes and are known for a punishing — in a good way — live show. 4 The Garrys, Man Meat, Quinzee Town, Sad Buckets, Oct. 14, Amigos A collection of Saskatoon bands take the stage on Oct. 14 for a fundraising show that costs just $5.

League of Wolves, Public Animal (featuring Ian Blurton), The Buzzardline, Oct. 15, Amigos

FM-Phasis’ live offerings wrap up on Oct. 15 with a big, part-local, partCanadian party. Cover is $10.
